This intimate Cartography highlights the diverse ways photography can trace the ephemeral quality of meaningful places, nature, and people. In 2015, I traveled in the Southwest of the United States. During that initiatic road trip, I did not only travel geographically miles through all these beautiful roads, culturally rich cities and amazing landscapes, but also traveled past in time. Indeed, as a french national, I was raised and educated on America by what I was seeing in Hollywood movies, on TV, and magazines in my home country and it is definitely through that prism that I took this series of travel photography. It’s named “On the road” in tribute to Jack Kerouac’s inspiring novel. This is my photographic view; the way I document the importance of these places, my own epic westward, ode to the great outdoors, discovery of new worlds, with its iconic buildings and construction, beautiful elegant old cars, timeless, sacred and lost places. . Hope you enjoy! Exhibited in Anderson-clarke center Rice University, TX part of fotofest exhibition places 2016-2017. Group exhibition at Talento Bilingue.
